Health, safety and environment policy
Policy statement
Keetronics (India) Pvt. Ltd. is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for its employees, contractors and visitors, and to conducting its operations in a manner that protects the environment. The Company will identify and control hazards, comply with applicable legal requirements, prevent pollution, use resources responsibly and continually improve its health, safety and environmental performance with the participation of every employee.
Occupational health and safety
Hazard identification and risk assessment
Hazards are identified and assessed for each work area and activity. Controls are defined before work begins and reviewed whenever a process changes.
Personal protective equipment
Area-specific PPE, including safety footwear, gloves, masks, eye protection and ESD garments, is issued to employees and its use is monitored.
Machine safety
Presses, cutting and lamination equipment are provided with guarding and emergency stops, and equipment is safely isolated during maintenance.
Chemical handling
Inks, solvents and adhesives are stored and handled in accordance with their Safety Data Sheets, with adequate ventilation and spill control.
Training
All new employees and contractors receive a safety induction, followed by periodic refresher training on safe work practices.
Incident management
Incidents and near-misses are reported, investigated for root cause and closed with corrective action to prevent recurrence.
Fire safety and emergency preparedness
- Fire protection: fire extinguishers appropriate to each area, inspected and maintained at defined intervals
- Evacuation: marked escape routes, emergency exits and assembly points throughout the facility
- Drills: periodic evacuation drills to maintain awareness and response readiness
- First aid: first-aid kits and trained first-aiders available on every shift
- Emergency contacts: emergency telephone numbers displayed at prominent locations
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) control
Electrostatic discharge can damage the electronics within keypads, touch panels and displays without visible evidence. The ESD control programme protects products throughout handling, assembly and dispatch.
ESD protected areas
Designated and marked EPAs with grounded work surfaces, flooring and equipment for handling sensitive assemblies.
Personnel grounding
Wrist straps, ESD footwear and garments, with verification checks before entry into the EPA.
Packaging
Static-shielding and dissipative packaging for the storage, transport and dispatch of sensitive parts.
Environmental management
Waste management
Waste is segregated at source. Hazardous waste and e-waste are handed over only to authorised recyclers and disposal agencies.
Energy and resources
Power and water consumption are monitored, and energy-efficient equipment and lighting are used. Material scrap is tracked and reduced.
Materials
RoHS and REACH compliant materials are used, and the substances used in manufacturing processes are kept under review.
Legal compliance
Operations are conducted in accordance with applicable Indian environmental, factory and labour legislation. Statutory requirements are reviewed periodically.
